We are committed to providing our customers with good quality products at reasonable prices. While striving to provide our customers with quality products at reasonable prices, we are also mindful that we must do our part to help reduce the damage we cause to our environment.
We do everything in our power to provide the items delivered to you, our customer, in good condition. Although we have no control over how our packages are handled by the shipping company, we do our best to pack them in ways that will help protect them. Our items are packaged in sturdy boxes that are made to handle the wear and tear of shipping. In order to help reduce the amount of waste cardboard being placed in landfills each year; we reuse the strong outer boxes that we receive our merchandise in from the manufacturers. These boxes are only reused if we feel that this action will not increase the chances of the product being damaged or lost in shipping. By reusing boxes we eliminate loads of waste cardboard and are able to lower our shipping cost to our customers. This action only amounts to a small percentage of the boxes we need each year to ship out packages to our customers. We feel we owe it to our customers and their families to do our small part.
Another program we are using to do our part in reducing our customers shipping costs and environmental waste is our packing material program. We are currently using newspaper and Styrofoam packing peanuts to secure our items inside the outer box. We have started a program of reusing the Styrofoam peanuts that we receive from our product manufacturers to package our customers items. These are all clean packing peanuts that were used to package products in bulk packages. Normally we would have just poured these packing peanuts in the waste containers and purchased new packing peanuts or other materials to pack our customers products. By throwing away these packing materials we are producing a lot of materials for the landfill that are just as clean and good quality as the new ones we are purchasing. We feel this is wasteful and very environmentally irresponsible. These packing peanuts are a waste of a lot of petroleum. So now we have added the use of newspaper print as a packing material. Newspaper print packs nicely around the many odd shaped products to help protect them in shipping.
We also participate in several recycling projects. Whenever recycling our waste products do not cause an increased cost to be past on to our customers, we participate in the recycling programs. We are also proud to say our employees are doing their part. They are cutting down on waste produced, participating in the recycling of their soda cans and other items, and helping to come up with more efficient ways to service our customers. We are constantly looking to be more environmentally friendly while trying to make sure we never compromise the quality and service we provide our customers. Our customers receiving a quality product at the best possible price is our main concern. We hope you our customers will take pride in purchasing from a company that tries to be more environmentally responsible as long as it doesn’t compromise the quality or price of the product we provide. We will continue to strive to make improvements in our companies practices.
